IMPRESS – Improved production strategies for endangered freshwater species

IMPRESS promoted at food and technology festival in Norway

This was the second year the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) particpated at the food and technology festival SmakÅs. The festival focuses on how locally produced food and technology can contribute to make the food production more sustainable in the future.

The research group of Finn-Arne Weltzien from NMBU brought live fish and embryos to the stand, and encouraged discussions with visitors of all ages. Many children participated in drawing fish cartoons and making fish models and other sea creatures in modelling clay, as well as a fish quiz.

The stand displayed roll-up posters about the IMPRESS project and the scientists engaged discussions with the public about how to help save endangered fish species.
